Stand against something plain
A plain wall or a clear, uncluttered background lets the garment and your outline stand out. Busy patterns behind you make it harder for any software to tell where you end.
Use soft, even light
Face a window, or stand in open shade outdoors. Avoid harsh midday sun, strong shadows and standing with a bright window behind you.
Show the whole of you
Stand a few steps back so you are in frame from head to toe, with the camera around chest height and held straight. A tripod, a shelf or a patient friend all work.
Wear something fitted
A close-fitting top and trousers gives the new garment a clear shape to replace. Bulky layers tend to bleed into the result.
Stand straight, arms slightly away
Face the camera in a relaxed, natural stance with your arms a little away from your body, so the torso and sleeves are visible.
Skip the filters
Beauty filters and heavy edits change your proportions, which is exactly what you do not want when you are judging fit.
If a result looks off
Try again with a different photograph. Every look is generated by AI, so treat it as a sketch rather than a promise, and use the size chart for the final call.
